NaYa offers two services open to individuals and organizations.

Cameroonians living in the diaspora and Individuals living in Cameroon can use health cards to help pay for family members’ medical bills in Cameroon with the guarantee that their funds will only get used to cover medical bills. 

Easy access to cost estimates for medicine and doctor’ consultations makes it easy for senders, patients to decide how much they want to spend and/or transfer to family members to help pay for their medical expenses.

Local patients in Cameroon can request financial assistance to get health points credit redeemable for medicine, consultation at participating medical providers. The health point credit allows local patients short of cash to access the medicines or doctor they need when they need ( with the money barrier out of the way) and pay later. In a way it is a health safety net similar to a credit card but for health only.

No. NaYa health point credit and health cards service are accessed by signing up on NaYa chatbot on Telegram from anywhere in the world.

NaYa’s health card is available for purchase anywhere in the world. Individuals,caregivers/organizations can top it up through the chatbot even if they work a significant distance from home. However, NaYa’s health points are only redeemable for medical services with our affiliates in the region (Cameroon). They do not translate to other countries’ healthcare services yet, nor unverified providers in the country.

Registered users, patients can find an up-to-date  list of NaYa affiliated healthcare providers on the chatbot menu ( option#). Access the chatbot here https://bot.nayafrica.com. Please remember that NaYa health cards are only accepted in approved providers in the country. We vet our medical services to ensure competent, reliable, and effective healthcare. Users anywhere in the world can connect to NaYa chatbot on Telegram (phone & desktop) to access our services. However, you will need a verified phone number to send and receive SMS/Telegram messages. Users in Cameroon will need to have Telegram installed on their mobile phones to redeem services at affiliated participating healthcare providers. Family caregivers/users in the diaspora will need access to a smartphone or the web to top-up health cards through the NaYa chatbot.

NaYa offers a zero premium for a ‘get now, pay later’ health point credit. Patients will have to submit all required information through NaYa chatbot on Telegram. Pending verification of submitted information patients can get notification of the value of health points credit they have been pre-approved for.

Effective disbursement of the health points credit is subject to the patient’s payment of a down payment (NOT a deposit) and verification of the submitted information.

We don’t think so. We’ve heard patients’ and caregivers’ feedback through focus groups and during our pilot phase at Pharmacy Moliva in Madagascar in Yaounde. People want health coverage which covers their needs with no strings attached, that is for
1)  removes financial barriers which cause delays in getting medical attention and
2) make sure funds dedicated to medical care reach their goal back home. We’ve listened and came up with a Zero-deposit health point credit and a fully traceable funds transfer process for local patients and family caregivers in the diaspora and at home. To make our process sustainable we apply service fees. If this is a catch, well we like to think we are a pretty good one:)
